Well-Connected Retail

Kingston Town Centre is one of London’s most successful Metropolitan Town Centres and is a popular regional shopping destination. In 2012, the Council’s Local Plan estimated that the Town attracted around 18 million visitors a year from a wide catchment area, and was home to around 17,000 jobs across 700 businesses.

Kingston’s connectivity to the wider metropolitan area contributes to its popularity, as does its proximity to nearby Hampton Court which also pulls in almost 1 million visitors to the area per year.

As such, Sports Direct considers this site to be an ideal location to establish an improved concept store that will showcase a full range of products, including clothing and equipment.

Sustainable Residential Development

Kingston Town Centre is a highly sustainable location for new residential development due to its excellent public transport connections. From Kingston Railway Station, central London can be reached in under half an hour. Several bus services running through the town provide connections to Heathrow Airport, Central London and other locations across South-West London.

It is also close to local schools and educational establishments, major employers, shops, leisure facilities, and the town’s attractions.

With the streets immediately surrounding the site being pedestrian-only, there is no vehicle access to this site. Due to the site’s highly sustainable location, no parking provision is included in this scheme. However, there will be a secure cycle parking space for every apartment proposed in the scheme.
